We are Palm Academy, and our premier goal is to help you raise your child to be a successful, well-rounded adult. Part of the way that we accomplish this is by offering a versatile preschool program in Fremont, where your child can learn a variety of subjects, but the other way that we accomplish this is by encouraging parents to continue the education at home with simple activities, like reading. Reading  your child their favorite bedtime story may just seem like a fun way to connect, but the reality is that it is so much more important than that. The following is our list of the benefits that come with reading to your kids:

• Communication skills- Stories aren’t just fun, whimsical tales –they teach our kids how to communicate and interact with the world around them. Not only that, but spending the time to sit down and read with your child will help them to communicate better with you!
• New experiences- Small children encounter new experiences everyday, like going to the eye doctor, attending a birthday party, etc., and books can help them to understand what to expect and how to behave.
• Language- Numerous studies have shown that toddlers whose parents read to them tend to have a much better grasp of the basics of language.
• Academic- Not only does reading help your child to develop the fundamentals of language, but it also sets the stage for a lifetime full of academic excellence. Kids that are exposed to reading at an early age generally do much better in all aspects of education.
