Palm Academy is a wonderful place for your child to experience their first years. My son has had a great time learning and developing social skills to put him ahead. A phenomenal value for Bay Area childcare.

This review is for the Infant Room. At the time of writing this review, my child is 17 months and has been in daycare for almost 1 year. When I was searching for a daycare, I was looking for a place that is safe and keeps my baby stimulated and happy, so I’ll go through each of these topics. For safety, I haven’t seen anything that concerns me. All the toys that they put out seem age appropriate. The teacher-to-infant ratio is always met. They fill out injury reports if anything does happen and nothing major has ever been reported for my child (another child accidentally scratched mine when playing with toys for example). The teachers also diligently applied eye drops when my child was recovering from a non-contagious eye infection. They followed the Covid local guidelines when a child tested positive and luckily so far my child has not gotten Covid. For stimulation, I love how the teachers keep the kids engaged with a variety of activities. They have music time, playing with musical instruments, dancing, singing, toys, arts and crafts like painting, outdoor playtime, learning sign language, reading books, learning colors, and probably more than I’m missing. My child is definitely learning and hitting all of her developmental milestones. I get asked often if my child likes daycare, and I’m positive she loves it. She is always hugging her teachers. The teachers send pictures and videos throughout the day and she always looks happy (or mischievous). One recommendation that some parents have is to do a “surprise” visit during the middle of the day to see if the kids are happy/the teachers are doing what they are supposed to be doing - I didn’t deliberately do a surprise visit, but I did do early afternoon pickups for a short period and even now I pick up her up a bit earlier than most parents, and everything is as expected - the rooms have large windows so you can see them when you walk up and the kids are happy. Of course there are times when someone is crying (they’re babies after all) but nothing alarming where it looks like a baby has been crying for a long time, and the teachers are always holding the baby to comfort them. The teachers seem to genuinely love the kids and get excited as much as the parents do about their progression in development. What could be better? I don’t really have any complaints, but I will point out that not all of the teachers are native/fluent English speakers. Several of them are, as am I, so I’m not worried about my child’s language development, and if anything I’m surprised they don’t make it a bilingual (or trilingual?) class and charge extra, but this could be a consideration if you’re not a native English speaker yourself. I’ve seen complaints for all daycares that they are greedy money-grabbing places - I literally don’t know why people complain about this. The teachers need to be paid, the facilities need maintenance, etc. At Palm, I’ve never had surprise fees, just the monthly tuition. I think people are surprised by what the rules are when they pull their child out of the daycare so ask about how far in advance you have to give notice, if the place allows for a trial period, what happen when the child is sick, you go on vacation, etc. so you aren’t caught off guard by what you need to pay. For Palm Academy specifically, in various parent groups, people will say something like, there must be something wrong with that place because they have had citations. While I agree that citations aren’t great, if you actually take the time to read what the citations were, in my opinion, they aren’t concerning at all. All the citations happened years ago and they were on minor issues unrelated to safety. You can also talk to the staff about them so you can make an informed decision instead of relying on a judgmental parent who has never even visited the place. Go check it out, say hi to the bunnies and cat, and I hope your baby will fit in like mine did.

Love this place. My Pre-K child is thriving. Teachers make everyone feel loved and take care of them. They go above and beyond everyday!!! Would recommend to anyone looking for childcare or even after school care for older children!!! Love this place!!!

"WORK REALLY HARD"

“My son has been going to Palm Academy for over 4 years. I have only good things to say about the teachers and administrators at this daycare center. They work really hard to keep my son safe, happy and learning. My son cried so much when starting preschool and they were so good in getting him smoothly transition into a school environment. He loves coming to school and ask lot of questions. He learns twice as fast compared to the kids in his same age group and I am very impressed.”

"EXCELLENT STAFF"

“The teachers and staff at Palm Academy is excellent. Their childcare providers are very attentive and patient with the kids but still keeping them in discipline.”

"OUTSTANDING PROGRAM"

"Outstanding program! My daughter loves JEI. She asks to go to JEI everyday. She is doing really good in school!!"

"RESPOND ON TIME"

"We have two kids and they are both enrolled into different programs at Palm Academy. Our 3 year old goes to their preschool and our 7 year old attends their after school care. We are happy with the teachers and staff. They listen to the issues and respond on time."

"LOVE THE KIND TEACHERS"

“Quite an effective program for the toddlers. Love their kind teachers. I like the fact that the facility has big play area. Well structured and methodical balance between free play and learn time.”

"DO A GREAT JOB"

“My child really enjoys being at the Palm Academy, and has adjusted very well. His teachers Ms Amanda and Ms Jennifer do a great job!”

"AMAZED"

“I am amazed at the application of knowledge my child has shown”

"VERY GOOD SCHOOL"

“Very good school for Infant daycare! My baby loves to stay here, and the teachers are really good. I would recommend the school to everyone! It’s more like a home”

"WONDERFUL SERVICE"

“Richard is really enjoying the program. Thank you for providing such a wonderful service to the children of this community”

"VERY PATIENT"

“My child has been in the infant room since she was 5 months old and I am more than happy with the staff! She had learned a few signs (more and please) which she used at home until she was able to speak. We appreciate the daily talks with the teachers on my child’s day. I am thankful to have them care for and teach my daughter. And for their patience in helping to transition her off the pacifier. There are not enough good words to describe how happy we are with Palm Academy’s infant program!”

"HAPPY WITH THE CARE"

“5 stars! Very loving and caring caregivers! I am really happy with the care given to my child. Caregivers are always very welcoming. I feel my daughter is in good hands”

"EXCEEDED OUR EXPECTATIONS"

“This program has exceeded our expectations! We are very impressed with the interactive teaching methods, the program content, and the great staff!!”

"CLEAN FACILITY"

“We brought our daughter when she was five months old, and she is now 16 months old. The daycare facility is clean and kid-friendly. The teachers are passionate about kids and are very caring. As working parents, we feel fortunate to have found this daycare as we can rely on them during the day. When you come to pick up your kid at the end of the day and see the big smile from your child, you know she’s had a great day!”

"ENTHUSIASTIC LOVE"

“The children all seem to have two things in common: great self esteem & love of learning. They teach the way children should be taught; with love and enthusiasm”

"LOVING AND NUTURING"

“Teachers and staff at Palm Academy are awesome! Ms. Florence worked hard and helped my 5 yr old son with reading and writing. Thanks for the loving and nurturing environment!”

"FUN AND EDUCATIONAL"

“At Palm Academy, we have found a place that’s both fun and educational. My children come home talking about things I never imagined they would understand at 3 & 5 years of age. Thank you for the opportunity to give this to our children.”

"SO PLEASED"

“We are so pleased with the Fastrackids program at Palm Academy. Tyler is learning so much that is not in any of the daycare programs he attended”

"DEVELOPED SKILLS"

“Other then Math and Reading, where he is good, our son is involved and interested in different cultures, religions, history of the world and most of all, maps, terrains and geography. He likes encyclopedias and special books on that from the library. I think Palm Academy was instrumental in developing this interest. I have to tell you this incident – once he was spraying water on the seeds we planted. The spray nozzle was set on mist. After a while he started spraying in air and as the wind came, the spray blew away. He came to me demonstrating how the water flies away and asked me why. I wanted him to find the answer so I just changed the nozzle diameter for thicker spray and showed that it didn’t fly and asked him why. He did that a couple of times and then told me that the water particle size in the mist is very fine, so the wind can carry it away but not so with the thicker nozzle size and kept experimenting with different sizes for a while. Nilesh and I were very overwhelmed by the answer and his clear thinking and logic. I wanted to tell you about this.”

"APPRECIATE ALL THE LOVE"

”My baby is now transitioning to preschool from Palm Academy’s infant program. I cannot help but say good words of the infant teachers there. If not for them, my daughter would have a very hard time. The teachers gave very individual attention to her and kept her safe and happy. She also learn some signs to communicate with us which I know she does frequently at baby Palm. I really appreciate all the love, patience and kindness they have shown to my baby girl.”

"EXCELLENT SAFETY"

““Both of my daughters have been attending Palm Academy for over 5 years now. My youngest daughter went to their preschool and now is going to 4th grade. My eldest is going to 6th grade. I could not be any happier. The reason I chose this Academy is because of its excellent safety and educational programs. I have complete confidence that my child is safe with them. Their teachers and staff are honest, caring, and wonderful with my daughters. No place is perfect, however, I wouldn’t have kept both daughters enrolled at the Academy if I don’t see the role they place in helping my daughters be successful in school and life.”
